  Engrossingly ambiguous. The verisimilitude of Michigan and the courthouse is one of the film’s best assets along with the stellar performances of Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick, Ben Gazarra and George C. Scott. The fun fact of Joseph Welch appearing as the film’s judge is WILD. Imagine if Preminger were alive today and he had gotten Ruth Bader Ginsburg to act in one of his movies!
