Given the times were in right now I decided to check this movie out and wow, this movie is incredible. It’s been forever since I’ve seen a movie that takes such a nuanced approach towards racial tensions. A very stylish one to at that, this movie is dripping with this 90s cheese that just adds so much. I love the fact that this movie has The framing device of taking place on a hot day, all the characters are sweating…
Spike Jonze has made something really really special here. I never thought I would find myself falling in love with a romantic movie. Usually they’re plagued by clichés and bad writing, but this movie turns all that on its head by having a very real and genuinely emotional story that I think most loners can relate to. The colors in cinematography are so beautiful it’s really a feast for the eyes. Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson bring their a game…
I know I’m not saying anything new by saying this but... this movie is absolutely incredible. The cinematography is fluid and interesting, The writing is funny, The pacing is meticulous and hits every emotional beat hard, The music is unforgettable. This movie is amazing in almost every way. I’m sure years from now we will recognize this movie as the catalyst for many more amazing Korean and other foreign language movies to get the recognition they deserve
It was pretty good, The best part of this movie for me was the performances and the characters themselves. Robert Pattinson did an absolutely fantastic job playing Connie, his character felt so real and his decisions always made sense. The movie has a great pace and I was never bored watching it. It’s just dripping with style you can really tell that the Safdie brother’s style just takes over the whole movie.
While most of it works I honestly do…
