Did he just throw my cat out of the window?
Wes Anderson is just fantastic. I was introduced to him with Fantastic Mr. Fox, became a season ticket holder (aka I’m seeing all his work) with Moonrise Kingdom, and fell more in love with the very critically acclaimed The Grand Budapest Hotel. This movie is just wonderful escapism at its finest. It’s got all the visual style and flair you’d expect. And christ is it funny. Ralph Fiennes just kills it. As has become expected with Anderson’s work, what an unusual story and cast of characters. Everything is just so particular and so different from what other directors are doing. Love it.
Oh btw, there is a lovely coffee table book called Accidentally Wes Anderson that I would highly recommend if you’re a fan of his visual taste. Terrific Christmas gift from Dana in 2020 :)
