I used to have a people watching problem. I've got it under control now, but about 5 years ago, it was bad. From about minute 7 until about minute 30, I found myself getting lost in my head, asking myself the same question the characters were trying to answer: what is the one memory you will take with you into your afterlife? “Loneliness is a heavy burden, but i'd rather be alone than make compromises.”

A perfect film with one of the greatest performances of all time from Giulietta Masina and an all-timer ending. You can feel Pasolini’s presence in the Divine Love sequence. So bleak, so funny, so beautiful. Turns out when you double the budget for one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, his already incredible films get even better. Bellissimo!

Oh a tragic film about the intersection of technology and humanity with a Colin Farrell Werner Herzog impression and a Mitski cover of a Lily Chou-Chou song. Of course this movie is incredibly my shit.

Guy that fell asleep next to me must’ve had the greatest nap of his life. Nothing soothes my soul like watching a film by Apichatpong. Feeling grateful to have experienced this as he intended: on 35mm film in my favorite theater on the planet.
