kai’s review published on Letterboxd:
there have always been the same amount of atoms in the universe. the elements making up your body used to be part of a star, and someday they will be earth, and then a plant or an animal. eventually they will become part of another star before it dies and spreads its elements throughout the universe, and they’re still the same atoms — just recombined into a new form.
and in a way, death isn’t really tragic so much as it is necessary. when our existence ends, we give birth to something new. why do we think the universe belongs to us alone? there was something here before us, and there will be something after us. we are a single step in a universal cycle.
our insignificance is terrifying, but it’s also beautiful.
anyways i liked this movie a lot.
