Milo’s review published on Letterboxd :
If Booksmart wasn't a 5 star before the Almost Famous homage and the LCD Soundsystem track then it certainly was afterwards. "Instant Classic" is a term that often gets used quite a bit to describe films and not all of them deserve it, but this is a film that very much earns that praise. Justified's Kaitlyn Dever is brilliant in this, and her chemistry with Beanie Feldstein is evident.
Few directorial debuts are as confident, good and blend the line between comedy and drama as well as Olivia Wilde has done in her first film and I cannot wait to see what she does next behind the director's chair. It's the perfect mix of tone and all the jokes landed to a kind audience, and absolutely deserves to be in all sorts of Oscar races. Film of the year? I think so.
