The Report can't quite break into that list of all-time journalism movie classics, but the performances, particularly by Adam Driver and Annette Bening make this a watchable if formulaic movie. Think more along the lines of the quality of The Front Runner and The Post than All The President's Men, but there's enough there to like about it, and it succeeds in making you angry and what it's supposed to make you angry about, taking shots at Zero Dark Thirty in the process. Perhaps most impressively, the early 2000s set scenes feel have the same look and feel of an early 2000s movie, creating a clear distinction between the flashbacks and the present day storyline which is more reigned in and less chaotic.
