The most DC-like Marvel film to date, Eternals is structurally messy, overstuffed with new characters, frustratingly heavy on the exposition and too ambitious for its own good.

Despite all this it still clears a quality bar that DC films have often fallen dramatically below. Nevertheless it’s Marvels least convincing effort in literally years.

Perhaps it’s biggest (and most unforgivable) crime is that it potentially leaves the MCU in a worse state than it found it. Time will tell.
