Mike Martin’s review published on Letterboxd:
Yeah this was a modern masterpiece. It hits every mark you want to see hit in a romantic dramedy? Its funny when it needs to be, sad when it needs to be, exciting when it needs to be. It was a rollercoaster of emotion and I loved every second of it.
Every time I watch a movie that is based in Scandinavia, my desire to go there gets higher and higher. Its just so beautiful looking EVERYWHERE and Joachim Trier and co. made it seem even more beautiful. The cinematographer Kasper Tuxen really did a great job.
The acting was also spectacular. Every character felt real. Every bit felt as Nicole Kidman said before the film,
“Perfect and powerful”
I had been hearing about Joachim Trier for a little bit of time now and I can see why. I can’t wait to see where he goes next.
