matthew and Chinese cinema

if you've been following me for the past two years, then you'll notice i've been watching a lot of cinema from Hong Kong, some from mainland, and a few from Taiwan. like a handful of others on this site, i've been utterly seduced and captivated by China. so much so, i fear i've turned into a weeaboo (or at least, the version of weeaboo who is obsessed with China rather than Japan). i find it a bit difficult to articulate exactly why.
