    Cha Cha Real Smooth

Cha Cha Real Smooth is such a touching, heartwarming film that speaks to the struggles we all face on the journey to find ourselves, whether you're a child, young adult, or adult. Director and lead Cooper Raiff, in particular, hits it right out of the park as an incredibly charismatic, yet totally lost, recent college graduate. What he brings to the table is a deeply personal presence that delivers such emotion no matter where you are on your path. Additionally, the movie also features a lot of great humor, fun characters, and especially the newcomer talent of Vanessa Burghardt as Lola.

  • Dual

Dual is a thrilling and fascinating combination of modern day science fiction ideas and dark humor. Featuring Riley Sterns' unique style of dialogue, cinematography, entertaining tangents, blunt characters, and twists, the film is genuinely a lot of fun. However, the jokes don't always necessarily land, some elements feel like filler beyond the core of the story, and by the time the credits roll I'm not sure how audiences will feel about the overall movie. That said, if you were a fan of The Art of Self-Defense, this film is right up your alley.

  • Agnes

Ultimately, this film features a strong first half that invokes the spirit of 80s horror, as it is both serious and willing to poke fun at itself. There are a variety of quirky characters, scenes, and jokes that are genuinely a lot of fun, alongside some shots and moments that often unexpectedly elevate the movie. Yet, the second half in a way sometimes feels disconnected and aimless, even if Molly Quinn manages to make it worthwhile.
