I saw this years ago and didn't appreciate it. I rescreened it and its a near masterpiece. Anthony Quinn and Yaphet Kotto highlight a grim tough noir about 3 robbers who are running from the crime syndicate AND the police. Its a must watch.

Fritz Lang is one of my favorite directors so I had this on my watchlist for a while. I have screened the sequel already, " The Testament of Dr. Mabuse " by Lang and found it pretty good. I had major problem with this one though. Its waaay too long. It clocks in at 4 1/2 hours. I couldn't wait for it to end. That tells me the story wasn't that compelling either. Its not a bad film, it just didn't grab me like the sequel.

The film opens with a Lone Rider on horseback struggling thru a massive snow fall on a mountain. Its a long shot…
