Hunter Morris’s review published on Letterboxd:
The performances Antonio Campos manages to find from projects he is involved in is on a different level.
Elizabeth Olsen in Martha Marcy May Marlene.
Rebecca Hall in Christine.
And pretty much everyone else in The Devil All the Time.
DELUSIONS if you think there was a single bad performance in this thing.
That being said, I do think a lot of the film could be “over-the-top”. The music seemed a little manipulative at times, there was an unnecessary amount of characters and plot lines, and it was dark to a harrowing point.
I definitely recognize that this was a good movie, but I didn’t like it nearly as much as Campos’ other features.
