Lady Bird ★★★★½

Really quite lovely. I'm a sucker for these teenage comedy-dramas and this is a particularly good one, having plenty of unusual humour that neatly balances out the raw drama of Lady Bird's troubled relationship with her mother. As usual when I catch up with these hyped films a few months late I feel like I don't have much to add to what has already been said, but let the record show that I laughed uncomfortably loud at the wonderfully-observed, over-dramatic way that Christine asked "what day is it?" after getting out of hospital.
