Maxwell Alexander’s review published on Letterboxd:
Thomas Vinterberg and Mads Mikkelsen team up again after 2012's "The Hunt" this time to 'intoxicating' results. I couldn't resist the pun. But seriously this is a really solid film. Mikkelsen is splendid as Martin a school teacher who participates in an experiment to maintain a drunken state everyday. It starts out as a goofy exercise but quickly devolves into a sobering midlife crisis.
I must say the ending to this film may be one of my favorite scenes of the year. There is such energy, such life, but such an underlying sadness. One thing Vinterberg does very well is leaving you with a great ending. You can tell he knows how he wants his audience to exit a film.
