Maxwell Alexander’s review published on Letterboxd:
There is no actor in this world who has a presence like Eddie Murphy. He makes everything seem so natural. He can steal a scene while simultaneously being the most generous om screen partner. As, Rudy Ray Moore, Murphey showcases all the talents we've missed for years.
At it's core "Dolemite is my Name" has a very sincere story of representation. It focuses on a specific time in Moore's life with such style and charm. The costumes are loud and the ensemble struts in perfect step. By the end I guarentee you'll have a smile on your face.
