I have gone on at length about how much I love the 2017 "Wonder Woman." I did a who Youtube video about it. I think Gal Gadot is an incredible Diana and that Chris Pine has just the best chemistry with her. Patty Jenkins should be making more movies. Her direction style and talent is so great. All of these positives translate to the sequel for me so I don't need to dwell too much on them. Though I like the first one more there is so many things that excel in "1984."
To start, this movie looks so good with vibrant colors and the best VFX in the DCEU to date. What helps is the spectacle of the film is much more whimsical as opposed to gritty. The action scenes don't look fake. Not to mention a great character design for Cheetah. It never touches the horrendous designs of "Cats" and actually is cool.
Speaking of Cheetah, Kristen Wiig is amazing. I was nervous because I only see her as purely comedic and awkward. So I was afraid when the movie asked me to view her as sexy and strong. To say the least she nails it. She is both sultry and kick ass as becoming one of the highlights of the movie. She pairs well with Pedro Pascal's, Maxwell Lord, who chews on every scene like it's a rare steak. It is phenomenal.
This is a great movie to release this Holiday season. I do believe WB is shooting themselves in the foot by not releasing it before "Tent" and by just pushing it to HBO Max. I love that it's available in my home but this would have smashed at the Box Office.
