Is it technological advancement, dedicated professionalism, or simply an inherent disconnect from humanity that drives Andrea Riseborough’s Tasya to do what she does? Or is it a fetishization of violence, like the filmmaking could suggest? Like it’s multi-sided point of view, Possessor scatters these questions amidst shocking violence and a surprisingly restrained style (ignoring the over the top action), and leaves the viewer to draw the lines for themselves, though the final image is pretty damming.
It loses its way…
