You ever absolutely love a movie but don’t know what to say about? That’s what happened to me with this film. Lady Bird is an absolutely beautiful film. It’s not five stars yet because I’ve become more strict about what I give that score. Still it’s one of favorites. For some reason I don’t know how to write about this movie. It should’t be to hard. It’s a simple enough film I would think. It’s the life of this main character played by Saoirse Ronan. The film is about finding your own voice. It’s a very powerful and uplifting film. I don’t really know why I struggle to write about this but maybe it’s just because it’s sometimes hard to write about why you love a movie. The cast was amazing. It was almost perfectly written. Greta Gerwig’s direction was amazing. I feel like pretty anyone could relate to this film. I can’t wait to rewatch it. This is a special film and I could definitely see my score going up on rewatch. Possibly the best part of this film Laurie Metcalf and Saoirse Ronan. They honestly felt like they were mother and daughter. Their back and fourths were just amazing and at times heartbreaking. Metcalf plays Lady Bird’s mother. While she is very strict you can tell that she does love her daughter even if her daughter says otherwise. She is very hard on her. I especially love their argument at the very beginning of the film. Lady Bird someone who hasn’t found her voice yet which is definitely okay. The movie is kind of about finding your voice. She isn’t very happy with her life. She thinks her mother hates her. She often lies and causes trouble. She character was very well developed. I loved her relationship with her best friend played by Beanie Fledstien. Fledstien was really great in the film. The film had an amazing cast. I really have no problems with this film. It’s an amazing masterpiece. Wish I had more to say but at the moment I don’t. I’d highly recommend this film. It’s just so amazing. Overall Lady Bird is an absolute treat that I can’t wait to revisit.
