    Jim, the World's Greatest


    Jim, The World's Greatest is an early Coscarelli movie with after-school special vibes. It ultimately goes into heavy drama territory but isn't a total downer. Between this and Phantasm, I think Coscarelli has made some of the best movies about grief. I particularly liked the ending and think it delivers a message that will never be unimportant. It's really helpful for people going through hard times.

    What was up with that ending? The funeral home dude just wanted to chop the dead guy's finger off just because? Did I miss something? I was walking on the treadmill while I watched this and the thing is old and keeps malfunctioning and jumping a whole mph for a few seconds and I couldn't pay full attention, but I don't think I missed anything.
