Max Oxley’s review published on Letterboxd:
Funny how Disney's first animated feature with a black protagonist also feels like their most old-fashioned in years. Plus, despite being one of the only Disney princess movies in which the princess isn't actively wishing for a prince, it's also one of their most romantic films to date. Tiana is a really good lead character and the voodoo elements make for a great plot device. Shadow Man is a very entertaining and rather menacing villain so it's a shame he doesn't get to do more.
