Eternals ★★★½

Find your own purpose.

Eternals was never a huge hit within comics except with hardcore comic book fans despite being created by as big a legend as you can get in the medium. The mainstream appeal for this property should be limited and I’m here for it!

Created in 1976 by Jack Kirby this has never even been adapted into cartoons. The comics were heavy on world building, god like characters debating moral decisions and convoluted plots involving weird cosmic entities. They made a big budget movie out of that!

This seems to be a mish mash of Kirby’s original creation and Neil Gaiman’s 2007 retcon (ish).

God, I hope we delve into some more Marvel stuff that should never be adapted into live action before this bubble busts. Even the post credit scenes… they’re bringing THOSE characters into live action? A lot of people are not going to dig it, I can’t imagine. I fucking love it.
