Feels like an old folklore fairy-tale from before they were homogenized and made safe for mass consumption. A fable about the dangers of parenthood.

It mostly plays like a drama with moments of hope and heartbreak with underpinnings of horror. Even during the film’s happiest moments you feel dread hiding around the corner.

As usual Noomi Rapace is fantastic.
