Mr. DuLac’s review published on Letterboxd:
It tugged at the strings attached to my usually emotionless black heart. Dev Patel is great as Saroo, but the casting of young Saroo was perfection.
Even though I knew the movie was about adult Saroo looking for his biological mother, I couldn't help but worry about young Saroo played by 8 year old Sunny Pawar. That kid was just awesome, you just didn't want anything bad to happen to him. I actually didn't expect so much of the film to be about when he was young and the film is all the better for it.
If I had one complaint is that I wish it would have spent more time on how his search turned into an obsession almost ruining his life. It's like one day he finally shows interest in finding his mother and the next day his life is in a shambles because of it.
