Mr. DuLac’s review published on Letterboxd:
Yeah, you end up being a jaded, cynical asshole, just like me.
A truly fantastic cast headed by an astonishingly confident Ryan Gosling. If there's any fault in his performance I did not see it.
My only real gripe with the film is that it was doing great for the most part and felt like an intelligent political drama, but then it's like the writers put in a fail safe. There's an instance or two were the point they were making was just too on the nose for me. It felt like they were saying "Ok, for those of you who are too stupid to understand what we're trying to get across, let us spell it out for you nice and slow."
I could have done without that, but regardless it's still a great film.
