After the huge let-down of Jason X, I figured I should right some wrongs and watch a real Friday the 13th movie.... and due to my girlfriends love of Disco, I settled on Part 3, in glorious, sort of, 3D. Damn, those opening credits are funky.

I love how this series jumped into cheese at the drop of a hat. Part 1 & 2 are legitimately serious movies, but the way this thing jumps feet first into stupidity is impressively reckless and it almost feels as though the whole thing was treated as a joke. I have no problem with that.

One thing I do have a problem with is how cheap this damn thing looks. The effects are shoddy, the acting is piss-poor and the set's just look incredibly cheap, replacing a lot of real locations for an unconvincing and atmosphere-free sound-stage.

The film just about pulls it together by being as colourful as possible. It's full of memorable (if terrible) characters and we even get our first taste of the Classic Jason look.

Overall, while I might not love this instalment, I'm entirely here for it's soundtrack which is one of the stupidest fucking things I have ever heard in my life.
