James Bond: [after Bond has just lost his 10 million in the card game] "Vodka-martini."

    Bartender: "Shaken or stirred?"

James Bond: [agitated] "Do I look like I give a damn?"

Synopsis: There's a scene in the movie Dr. No, the first Bond film, where Sean Connery shoots an unarmed man in cold blood. It's straight from the book and it so shocked audiences that Bond never did it on film again. That's the deal with the Fleming books versus the…

Al Roberts: That's life. Whichever way you turn, Fate sticks out a foot to trip you.

What a fantastic little noir movie. I enjoyed every minute of this very short, but very well done low-budget movie. Tom Neal and Ann Savage are wonderful. Neal hits every note as the sad sack loser, piano playing man who fate trips up. And Savage is perfectly despicable as the venomous, blackmailing woman he unfortunately crosses paths with.

Director Edgar Ulmar is the predecessor…

Daniel Lugo: “Sometimes God just fucks up your order and you gotta chow down on that shitty shame sandwich.”

Lots of violence, lots of crass people and a lot more fun than I expected. Even the Michael Bay-ness of this didn’t ruin it for me.

Well-cast, especially the three leads as the trio of meat heads and the always fantastic Tony Shaloub. I was most impressed with Dwayne Johnson though, who plays it against type in this one.

Jo Koy is extremely likable and I appreciate this effort at representation, but in the end it’s just a comedy that’s not very funny. This story has been told many times before, some better and most worse, but never with such a diverse cast.

I’d like to see Koy in a better story. And I’d also like to see more Lou Diamond Phillips on my movie screens.

Batman: “Fear is a tool. When that light hits the sky, it's not just a call. It's a warning.”

An interesting mix of Taxi Driver, Seven, Saw and any number of great detective stories with a comic book angle.
This was not what I expected but it was also not what I feared it would be either. I truly enjoyed this and can’t wait to see it again.

Rick Macci: “I think you just might have the next Michael Jordan.”

Richard Williams: “No, brother, I got the next two Michael Jordans.”

This turned out to be much better than I thought it would be. The trailer looked interesting, but I feared that the movie would turn into the worst kind of biopic. It's helped by fantastic performances from the entire cast, but special kudos to Will Smith and both Tony Goldwyn and Jon Bernthal as the frustrated coaches.…
