Ben Marko’s review published on Letterboxd:
Definitely one of the best looking animated films I've seen. That rain scene was outstanding. But, as a story, this felt more like an episode of television than a film. There really wasn't an escalation of stakes, or anything particularly meaty going on. The villain felt a little ham-fisted and the emotional moments were repetitive. It also kinda removed the ensemble nature that makes Toy Story so charming to begin with by sidelining every character except Woody and Buzz. It hits its marks, it doesn't do anything particularly wrong, but it never goes anywhere unique with its story, characters, or images.
