"Do you know what my husband said about the news? He called it the first rough draft of history."

I'm a sucker for journalism dramas. Although at times the plot can feel a bit rushed, The Post is a very well acted that, for the most part, does a solid job at capturing the high-stakes nature that was the Pentagon Papers. But there are better movies in that subgenre. Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest filmmakers of all…

"You drown not by falling into the river, but by staying submerged in it."

Extraction is your perfectly average Netflix action flick. The action in this film, while great, is the only thing worth mentioning. Chris Hemsworth is utilized as a one-dimensional action hero that comes with all the tropes of one as well, including a tragic backstory that apparently not even the director cares enough about. "You're one ugly motherfucker."

There’s so much testosterone in this film, it’s literally oozing on the screen. "Predator" is quintessential 80's action. A simple plot, badass characters, quotable oneliners delivered by Arnie like only he can do it, very good visual effects ( they still hold up today) and gruesome action in true 80's fashion. The film is able to balance humor, action and horror very well, and McTiernan builds suspense like a true master. McTiernan and Schwarzenegger make a…

"This is me! This is how I win."

I don't think I breathed through the entire movie. So stressful. You see a dude's extremely hectic life plagued with issues. He balances them poorly, but the fact he balances them at all is amazing. The Safdies Brothers are the real deal, they directed the shit out of this. Can't wait to see what they'll do next. I always liked Adam Sandler as a dramatic actor, and his performance in Uncut…
