Been watching so many Bond films I thought I'd revisit the first one I say all the way back in 2012. I remember really liking this one back in the day, but just didn't remember a lot because well I was twelve. This film definitely still holds up though. The direction is excellent just like Casino Royale it's an excellent blend of action and espionage. The set pieces are also excellent there are some awesome scenes. The writing is also great especially for Javier Bardem's character. The conflict of a super villain and the government was also a nice touch adding more to the film. The cinematography is gorgeous Roger Deakin's never fails. The editing and sound design are all excellent. The visual effects are still great too just some stuff doesn't look as good six years later. Daniel Craig is still obviously excellent as Bond maybe giving my favorite Bond performance from all of his films I've seen. Javier Bardem is an amazing villain bringing such a menacing vibe very reminiscent of No Country for Old Men. Judi Dench is also great I love how much she is given to do in this film. Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris, and Albert Finney were all great as well. The film does lose focus sometimes and the film does feel long at some points, but this is without a doubt one of the best action films of the decade and the century.
