Michael Sumpter’s review published on Letterboxd:
Midsommar is Ari Aster’s second film and I appluad him for making some changes to his formula. Making a Hereditary clone would have been a safe bet, but instead we get a mind bending cult film. This film has so many positives, the score, the acting, the framing of scenes, the sets, and some shocking violence. A couple negatives stick out to. The pacing and to me personally the story. The film takes a while to get going. Once it does however it takes off for a trip into the unknown. The story did not grab me like other films do. It took a while for me to care about some of the characters. It might have been my mood so this is up for a re-watch down the road. This is still a good movie. I say this is worth a watch, especially for horror fans.
