Firstly, I am not familiar with the games at all. I was hoping for a fun popcorn film as that’s usually the best you can hope for with a game adaptation. I’d say it partly reaches those expectations. I’d add it to a list of bad films I’d like to see a sequel for due to what they could be and not what they currently are.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
I finally got to see my favourite film in the cinema. A special experience that reminded me exactly why I love film, but more importantly it highlighted like never before the beauty of the cinematic format. I’ll be trying my hardest to watch the next two this week.

No Country for Old Men 2007
This film was just immense, I can’t believe I waited this long to see it and if you haven’t already go watch it now. So many scenes in this are so thrilling and tense, it’s a masterpiece in creating atmosphere and gripping the viewer. Partly because of the great direction and pacing but also THAT performance from Bardem, I found out after that he sweeeped every award for this and it was so deserved.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2018
This is the Super-Hero film that deserves an Oscar. The best animation aesthetic I’ve ever seen, it’s gorgeous whilst having an authentic comic book style, as well as integrating other styles for different characters. I want all the sequels and spin offs, just not for that annoying anime girl.
