    Bones and All

helping and joining someone who's kicking out her self discovery journey as an act of love seems to me like the kindest thing you could do for another person. as much as they are taking from other people, maren and lee give their all to each other; their whole thing is as beautiful as it is revolting and a complete attack on the senses it just provokes such a visceral reaction out of me. beneath the flesh it might be luca's most emphatic work yet, movie of the year.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

a complete blast if you are into rian johnson being a silly goose university graduate, although I don't know if the part where edward norton straight up looks like tom cruise in magnolia was intentional but it was the funniest to me. lifetime achievement award to daniel craig for not bursting out laughing when doing that accent.

  • TÁR

Saying it's a character study falls short to me because I felt like I was actually shadowing Tár, entirely buying who she is. She is totally in charge of her own life and image, as is the camera capturing her, making the moment when she loses it just impeccable to watch because the craft starts to fall apart as well. Just made with an insane level of precision and control that it's impossible to take your eyes off of it

BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths

Clearly going for so much that I'm never going to understand but Iñárritu doesn't give a fuck and keeps going for even more and more which does not seem like it’s going to come together at all and then he sticks the landing. If netflix it's gonna go bankrupt it should be giving insane amounts of money to directors to do whatever they want.

    Bones and All

An exercise in passive aggressiveness perfectly done by Luca combining what he has done first with romance then with bodies to the max. So uncontrollably about love and covered in blood that it just truly feels life changing on a physical sense. I hope him and Timothée never stop working together.

  • Stars at Noon

    Stars at Noon

For a movie made by a french woman, starring an american and a british guy, the latin overtone of it all felt pretty authentic to me. Could be because it was filmed where I used to live which in some weird way made me connect to it even more. Trust Claire Denis will always bring something sexy to the table, vaya con dios.
