Ostensibly obtuse with clear purpose, I'm not shocked in the least that this was booed and heckled when it premiered at Cannes back in 1992. This is not a Twin Peaks film. This is a David Lynch film. Thick, sticky, and molassesy. When you wade into those depths, you'll either be enraptured by the result or reject it outright. Rarely is there an in-between. Like a true auteur, he took what we all wanted and instead gave us what we weren't sure we needed.
To all the haters, Moira Kelly is the superior Donna.
