On his birthday, I decided to watch this film, which is my first ever Kieślowski film and it certainly didn't disappoint. The Double Life of Véronique is a very puzzling, complex and a quite dreamy film that through its characters (Weronika/Véronique) addresses many themes; existentialism, identity and love. The film largely benefits from Irène Jacob's mesmerizing beauty and charm, as she's stunning and captivating as both characters, as well as Kieślowski's brilliant style and direction, and I'm looking forward to discover the rest of his compelling filmography.
