The Virgin Spring 1960
did not know Last House on the Left was inspired by a Bergman film, cool to find that out.
didn’t even recognize Von Sydow until like the hour mark lol he’s great in this as a father who, despite Bergman’s depiction of him as a deeply religious man, sets out to defy one of the most basic Commandments in his plot for revenge. caught me off guard just how little of the film actually revolves around the revenge but it makes the most out of its short runtime. loved some imagery, particularly von Sydow with the tree. found it to be a really powerful shot.
