Ken B’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was only showing in my multiplex for one week! Its a genuine shame that films such as this are made or broken by the powers that be based on the first two nights of box office takings. I have no doubt that this will be a bit of a sleeper hit because word of mouth will spread and people will watch it at home. However, it is a quietly beautiful film that people should watch in a cinema wherever possible. Rarely has the innocence, mundanity and imagination of childhood been so finely realised. Brooklyn Kimberley Prince is remarkably convincing in the lead role. Willem Dafoe puts in the kind of performance that reminds us just what a great actor he is. Get out and watch it, while you still can.
