    I'll still go to bat for the odd romantic comedy. a) cause they're the easiest thing in the world to watch drunk/sad/hungover and b) they're pretty much the last bastion of filmmaking where a group of funny people just get to sit around going to town on a script largely comprised of characters actually talking to each other.

    Unfortunately, as we all know, the mid-budget movie is becoming an endangered species so they're largely being taken over by action comedies…

    Probably gonna be a five on a rewatch let's be honest, this is just classic bump in the night, twisty turny, supernatural mayhem with a bunch of narrative overhauls that demand further, scrutinous revisits. Jordan Peele dropping this then the Twilight Zone in like a few days feels like a SHIFT. Just being safe cause I feel like the humour beats don't quite play like they should sometimes, and wasn't sure if some of the sloppiness was a symptom of poor projection or not, but DAMN.
