    The story had a nice quality of being adapted to an anime, though it's cinematic form shows the necessity of representing the body language and "expression" in a "real" way on the screen. any more fantasy would be doomed.
    loved the running scene. it kinda reverses the whole story. it also reminded me of the ending scene from "Through the Olive Trees". :?

    p.s: I realized i haven't watched this yet after hearing the music box from Tsai's Days. Isn't it wonderful how cinema archives and represents the effect of time on it's artists; their art, their body and their soul?

    I believe even non- art-house films about anti-escapism won't have this quality of exploration, since it comes from insight of someone who has a background of being an Otaku; generation of being mesmerized to the 2D images and integrated with the fantasy.
