Andrew Ford’s review published on Letterboxd:
A wildly enveloping fantasy epic well worth getting lost in, but I'd be lying if I didn't say there were elements of it that didn't quite click for me the first time through. Some ill-advised attempts at humor, in particular, just didn't work for me at all, and really took me out of what was otherwise an EXTREMELY well-managed tonal balance.
This really comes alive in the home stretch, which I wouldn't dream of spoiling, and I'm looking forward to revisiting this as soon as possible. Or at least when it's much colder outside, this strikes me as an almost perverse thing to release in the middle of the summer.
