#28 of 31 - HOOPTOBER 5.0 : We Don’t Need A Stretcher In There We Need A Mop

I just finished watching Victor Sjöström's Silent Swedish Fantasy Horror film and I couldn't help but notice some similarities to A Christmas Carol! Holiday themed, deals with an ornery no good swine, A ghost forces him to view his past, present and future and said swine is even given an opportunity for redemption! Of the two films I'd say this one was the darker of the two! It was pretty bleak straight from the get-go! It delved even deeper when we entered Grim Reaper territory and the mythology behind it!

What with Halloween fast approaching I'm glad that I finally got a chance to check out the classic that has influenced directors like the legendary Ingmar Bergman! Having become acquainted with Mr. Bergman's films I can understand why this is one not only resonated with him but inspired him to become a filmmaker! That in itself speaks volumes about the film!

I was a little taken aback by the end of the closing credits.. It read Slut! Well that tears it.. they're getting way too personal!

I did a quick translation from Swedish to English and it means Final (End) No worries I managed to unbunch my panties ;-)
