Nathan Countryman’s review published on Letterboxd:
Godzilla proves that infrastructure is not something he cares about. He just is, a force of nature and a God who is going to fuck up everything around him. Like a slow moving trainwreck of disaster, the glacial response from Japan and further escalation proves to be catastrophic. This reimagining of the Godzilla mythos is terrific, as he evolves and evolves to be more destructive to the poor Japan landscape and the hopeless bureaucrats trying to stop him. Each horror they unleash on the nuclear bomb that is Godzilla just unleashes more radiation and damage to those around him. Watching Godzilla advance from a crawling lizard to a bipedal, glowing irradiated monster is a sight to behold. There is a lot of talking about infrastructure and damages, but it's still a heck of a fun Godzilla flick, complete with the traditional Godzilla themes.
