2/26 in my Scorsese-thon.
This was way better than Scorsese's previous flick, Who's That Knocking At My Door. But, not exceptional in any way, really - besides being one of the first films to star Barbara Hershey. She was very good in this, and easily the highlight of the film.
The camerawork was decent, nothing special but at least it wasn't as awkward and obscure as the last one. There were some weird moments of editing, particularly in the 'action'…

I’ve loved both The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi. I was beyond excited for this film. The trailers were phenomenal. However, when the negative reviews came out, my excitement waned considerably, and I decided to lower my expectations. An underrated, or rather over-hated, masterpiece. Rian Johnson is a master storyteller. The Last Jedi expands on the themes about the nature of good and evil and morality from The Empire Strikes Back and weaves it together with new themes about failure, loneliness, hope, creating a compelling, thought provoking and character-driven story.

A sequence of bloodless mildly scary moments happening to a bunch of annoying kids, revolving around a derpy-looking doll that doesn't actually do anything. Everyone's complaining about miniseries being on Letterboxd, but we all know the real debate is if haunted house rides should be on here if shit like this gets a pass.
A half star more for the car accident scene and the stairlift scene. Those were hilarious.
