Solid fight choreography and brutal action mixed with beautiful cinematography and some decent music selections, Kate is a fun 100 minute ride even though it doesn't really rise above the standard tropes of the modern revenge action films we've gotten since John Wick revitalized the subgenre. 81/100
Mary Elizabeth Winstead does bring some emotional weight to her character, and when paired with her limited role in Birds of Prey makes an excellent case for herself getting the helm of an action movie/series (perhaps an Alien reboot given how much she looks like a young Ellen Ripley toward the latter half).
Newcomer Miku Martineau also does very well as the young kid thrown into the dangerous situation. She has potential for a very good career if given the right opportunities after this, which I hope she gets.
