Who knew that a Godzilla film would provide much needed comfort when pandemonium seems to be gaining ground everyday. The very idea that a group of politicians and bureaucrats would come together to tackle an insurmountable danger to the populace is so wildly far from where we are right now. This iteration of Godzilla revives the terrifying allegory that the character was written to be. While it's more directly referring to nuclear power run amok, Godzilla is a perfect stand-in for any natural disaster or pandemic or frankly any problem that might require a government to give a shit about its citizens.
