Beautifully observational, powerfully tragic. Haynes' matter-of-fact approach to this story makes you cherish every small moment between the characters. His expert blocking and use of lighting also works wonders to convey the situation of the characters.
Blanchett is truly sensational in this. I've never had much of an opinion on her, but here she's heartbreaking and seductive all in one. Mara stands tall and does a fantastic job on her own as well.
This was really good but idk if I'll watch it again. Too sad.
