Ian West’s review published on Letterboxd:
Not nearly as flashy as the others, The Finale boasts a more back to basics approach as far as fight setpieces go, and but that’s not a complaint—I think it compliments the added ‘this is the end’ drama quite nicely... plus the fights are still eye bangers and Donnie Yen continues to be fantastic.
Then we get a scene chewing Scott Adkins going all in as a bigoted scumbag racist military dickbag—with heightened viciously brutal moments in every scene he’s in... almost cartoonish (but not in a bad way) as he sells needle dick garbage tuff guy filth like a boss with his pulsating wide eyed crazed fury anger. Lots of satisfying moments here, including several tense scenes revolving around a lazy Susan and Bruce Lee wearing his signature shades to a funeral. I kinda loved this and I’m glad I ignored the negativity wallowing, inscrutably jaded jabroni’s out there who told me this was terrible... it’s not—it’s far far from that.
Shades at a funeral.
