Ian West’s review published on Letterboxd:
One of my favorite ‘death scenes’ in a horror movie is the infamous mind-melting sliding door kill from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. It’s brutal, cathartic, manic, terrifying, and definitely in the running for the best kill ever captured on camera in a genre picture... but my actual favorite kill is Quint’s end in this movie—I still hold my breath when he loses Brody’s hand and plummets to his gruesome yet very fitting ahab demise—stabbing the shark in the fucking face with a machete while getting sawed in half by the jagged knife-teeth of the seas most notorious eating machine predator.
From hells heart, I stab at thee.
Fucking poetry.
