Ian West’s review published on Letterboxd:
Every cabin aboard the ship has a picture of a sea monster destroying a vessel, plus there’s a miserable guy who kinda looks like Eric Roberts that spends all his time POUNDING down glasses of J&B like a maniac and a little girl who gets possessed by a demonic doll that bites out the throats of birds.
Cool Mexican/Italian co-production from Cardona Jr. kinda feels like it runs 20 minutes too long but there’s some solid deaths, a great score, a stacked cast, and enough whacky stuff here to keep you occupied between the pacing lulls. Also, I’m not 100% sure but the little girl sounds like she may have been dubbed by the infamous ’Bob’ which is always a plus for me (bob rules you jabroni’s) so this has all the ingredients for a fun hazy afternoon movie.
Plus, Hugo Stiglitz and John Huston?!?!
