Watching this with the nine-year-old boy I watch somehow helped the humor seem less "kiddie" than it came off on my first viewing.
I loved answering his questions after the movie--questions like, "So... If Gabby Gabby wasn't the bad guy... Then... Who was the bad guy?"
We just talked for a half-hour about compassion and the fear of loneliness, as well as what those fears of insecurity can drive a person to do.
Ugh, it was great.
Toy Story 4 is great.
Kids are great.
It was all great.
